In light of the experiences of Victor, I have decided to make this post concerning the application of Veil on older and/or weathered plastic headlight housings.
Please be aware that UV-damaged, yellowed, or otherwise worn plastic headlight housings have the potential to experience a "leeching" effect of Veil, that is once Veil is removed, the worn (more porous) areas may retain a slight residue of Veil.
We are aware of this potential, and even though we already posted about this in a thread, we felt it in the best interest of our users, to be more prominent about this and hence this stickied post.
We are looking into to ways to reduce and/or eliminate the possibility as we go foward, but in the meantime, please use caution when applying Veil to such a surface.
I know a number of you guys are trying products in preparation for Veil application and there may exist products (like 3M's perfect it or similar) which may sufficiently "repair" or rejuvenate the surface prior to Veil application which may mitigate the problem altogether.
Bottom line, we want our users/supporters to be absolutely satisfied with their Veil experiences (both on the road and off) and so we are committed to seeing this one through.
I would like to thank Roy, Radarbusters, and the volunteers (who manage it day in and day out) for this forum, which has enabled us to quickly communicate with our customers and enable us to address concerns or experiences which can ultimately serve to help make our products better, long-term.
It's also important to note that Veil will protect headlight housings from such UV/weather/oxidation damage from future occurrence.

VG-
Thank you for your assistance. I'm beginning to think people out there on the board must think I'm some type of idiot for not knowing better. Actually, I DO feel like an idiot. Given the age of my car (going on 11 model years), and the fact it now has over 158K miles on it, I should have known better that the headlights would be somewhat weathered. Having never used VEIL before, perhaps I should have asked someone first???

You're not an idiot, Victor, this is why this kind of community exists - so that we all learn.
Looks like you and The VEIL Guy are working something out! Hope there'll be a good tech-lesson for all of us.
One thing's for certain, none of our cars are getting any younger.

Anyways, I just got done wetsanding my headlights this afternoon. It's not showroom quality, but it's 100% better than what they were previously. I will post some pictures tomorrow morning, after I have had a chance to re-apply VEIL, so you all can see the progression from bad to good. Thanks again everyone for your help!
