More vids coming...

ours are also on the inside, I figured it'd be just better to veil the windsheild it's self, that way when the stickers get changed out, there's still veil on the windshield protecting even the new stickers =)

When I get $80 to burn I'll let you know, for now other countermeasures are my priority and I'm kinda strapped for cash. But I don't care about veiling a small corner of the windshield, so I'll def. try it out when I get the $$ and time. Also, I'm kinda wondering about colors of plates vs. IR. Texas just started issuing all kinds of weird plates on myplates.com -- Some are black with white letters, I was thinking maybe a black plate with only 2 white letters would help out, what you think?

Re: Identifying and Eliminating Hotspots in the IR with Veil G4
Couple of things:
I originally thought a black-background plate with white letters was pretty stealth (and perhaps it is, relative to a fully retro-reflective white background-plate) but ultimately (as you will see in the last video of the series: part viii) the results were pretty surprising.
Given a choice, though, I would still select a black-background plate, at any rate.
The other surprise was how poorly the 3M tape actually appeared to show in the IR...which was surprising to both of us.
While it may be sufficient to some degree, it is clear the Ontrack Lasershield/Veil combination provides significantly better performance.
Therefore what ever plate you decide to use, I would at least select something like the Ontrack lasershield or an Ontrack Blur+Veil combo to get the best of all worlds.

Good luck.

Oh definitely, these new black plates[and others on myplates.com] are like $125 for 1 year (supposed to be cheaper if you pay 10 years of renewal fees up front for $500+ where it comes out to like $40/yr or some crap), So obviously I'd go with veil before getting one of these plates anyways. I was just wondering how reflective they would be vs. a white reflectorized plate, as both plates ARE reflectorized. Another thing I was thinking is if you had a black plate you could use those black smoke covers that are illegal because they 'change the color' of the plate -- since the plate is black, it wouldn't change the color and therefor be legal, in theory. (unless the cop trys to say the white numbers is now grey or some B.S.)

LOL! So all of happya$$'s jammer heads are actually increasing his lidar reflectivity?
Priceless.
Seriously though, how 'bout the car seats? They looked pretty bright under IR. Obviously you can't veil them, but maybe some IR absorbing seat covers? Of course then you'd need some sort of IR absorbing clothing as well...
