Default Whistler Pro-73 display visibility under bright sun?

I'm considering this RD for my wife's car since it has good reviews for a price. I'm a little worried about visibility under bright sun of "intense blue" display as Whistler brags about it. I recently traveled with a friend whose car has similar Pro-58 with simpler display that shows signal strength as a single digit constructed of blue LEDs. Under bright Cape Cod sun it became totally invisible, especially when wearing dark glasses. This never was a problem with Bel radars I had.

Does Pro-78, that seems to have a different display, suffers from the same visibility problem?

What about display visibility of Whistler 1793E/1783/1763/1758 that seem to use same platform as Pro series but with different bells and whistles and have a red display?

    Thanks!

Testing the DE1743, I get the same problem and its very annoying. You can't really see the display so you have to rely on the voice alert/tone alert, however at night it works great.

Whistler seems to love to have a sort of glossy screen

I'll second that. I used one for about a month, and that was one of the main things that I liked about it.
