    Default New Whistler models!!!

was starring at the XTRs and saw 2 new XTRs. The XTR-185 and XTR-190.

Both are battery powered but the 185 has a built in solar panel!

What's everyone think of a solar powered detector?

    Where did you see them?

I am not sure. Cordless have less range, and while a solar powered detector sounds neat and high tech, I would prefer performance improvements. If these new detectors offer performance improvements, I would consider them. Otherwise, I'll stay with my 1793SE

The cordless whistler models don't neccessarily have less range because they don't turn off and on like other battery powered models. In fact, they can supposedly detect POP radar. For isntance the 1788 cordless model from Whistler operates off of 4 rechargeable batteries and comes with a built-in battery charger. With these features they decided to leave the unit on 100% of the time. Therefore, you get the full range potential from the RD as well as the POP radar detection.

Say again? Was that a typo? I don't see the model listed on the Whistler site. If you can confirm, please provide any info about the model that you can.

Please provide a link to where you got this information. A picture will not do as anyone can edit/modify a picture. This model IS NOT listed on the Whistler website.
