    Default Pro-73 'City' Mode question....

My wife was using the 73 yesterday and was messing around with 'City' mode and was pleased at passing through those annoying X band red light thingy's. She said the 73' just beeps twice real quick and goes silent just displaying the X band strength with no noise. I like that better than it falsing in City 2 mode from X to Ka, so does she.

I was wondering in 'City' mode is range and sensitivity reduced versus 'Highway' mode?

No. In city mode, the only thing you are doing is telling the RD to beep twice, then go silent for ALL ALERTS. Sensitivity is still the same for all bands.

in city 2 mode x band is off. I recommend city 2 mode as the radar detector doesnt have to sweep through that band. It can pay more attention to scanning k and ka. Also if you hit the quiet button this will make the detector beep three times then it will go to a much lower volume where you can still hear it but not as loud.

If I remember correctly it's All RADAR bands, i.e. laser will go full blast... for good reason.

The problem is when I put it in City 2 mode it false's on my red light thing's from X to K band and back and forth. It's annoying. So I might try 2 mode again and the quiet feature and just live with it.

See my post here about the red light thingy's....
