XTR-690 Laser save
i always tell my self and hear it alot, that never count on your radar detector to save u from laser but... today just got one.
I was going down a 35 straight road doing around 42-45
i was just about to pass a town building that always has LEO cars parked in it, and BAM "LASER>>>" and gave the brakes a well needed love tap.
I was very pleased with this but im not counting on it happening again. since my 690 is mounted under my RVM in the middle of my windshield. But impressive none the less.

The unfortunate part is that I wouldn't be so convinced this was a save... I'd guess the laser alert you got was a direct hit... especially if you didn't get multiple laser alerts, I'm guessing he locked onto your speed but decided you weren't worth the chase.
EDIT
However, it is a good thing that the detector caught direct hits -- that's something good to know if you ever decide to go for passive countermeasures.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I've had a few heart-sinking experiences of blowing through a laser trap and having my 1793SE stay dead silent. Oh well, can't win them all
