I bought a Whistler Pro-78 off ebay recently, as they are ridiculously expensive here in Perth, Australia. One of the main reasons I bought it was because here in Perth we have a very difficult to detect speed camera, the Multanova 6F, and I had heard these had good Ka band detection. However after passing a few cameras, i have very poor detection.
In poor I mean that as soon as the detector makes a sound, I have to hit the brakes immediately. I have even switched off K band, as it falses, and if it takes me more than a second or two to realise its Ka band not K band, I will not have time to slow down. If i am travelling at say 120 in a 100 zone I dont think I would be able to slow down in time. I have not been speeding all the times I have passes one so I dotn know if I have appropriate time.
Is this normal range for such a detector and camera, or is there something wrong, I know it hard to detect, but with a good detector I thought you would at least get a few seconds or 100m warning. Is it possible that there are fakes on ebay, or something is wrong with the detector????
P.S - I have mounted my detector pretty level about 1/3 up from the bottom of the windscreen, in the centre.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or help.
