This was not a save because the LEO already had a customer pulled over. This was great detection of K-band for my 78 though!!!
Since updating to Rev. C I must admit K-band didn't seem to be any more sensistive than it was before I updated...until today- I finally got the kick-a$$ peformance I have been hearing about with K-band on this detector.
I was cruising along about 10 above the PSL of 55mph and I got a K-band alert level 1. I immediately tapped the brakes and got down to 55 because I was in known K-band territory. The signal vanished for 2-3 seconds and then came back around level 3-4 and continually ramped up as I drove along. I drove and drove and finally saw the LEO on the opposite side of this 4-lane divided highway behind an unlucky soul. As I passed him my odometer read 1.2 miles!!!! I was shocked because generally when the LEO is behind a vehicle like that the radar signal can be blocked and reduce your chances of getting a long distance alert.
The 78 won me over (again) today! It has been such a great detector and I applaud Whistler for their efforts on getting us great performance at the right price!!!
Now lets see if the XTR-695 is going to improve on that performance any!! Time will tell I suppose-
