Default Pro 78 (Rev C) tests with 34.7 ka

My friend called and said he ran into an old friend he used to work with and is now a State trooper. He said he wouldn't mind doing some tests with me and maybe get them on film. any suggestions?

TEST 1- maximum range for C/O on flat highway 5-10 miles away

TEST 2- Instant on blasts for 2 seconds 3-6 miles away.

TEST 3- Instant on for 2-5 seconds over a large hill.

TEST 4- LASER if i'm lucky.

Does DPS even use laser? I have never seen them use it, I have seen K band once and 34.7 Stalker I assume every other time.

    Bring on the I/O testing!

Crap, guess I am going to have to get a jammer soon... I got a Laser hit from what I thought was not DPS on 59, but I guess it could have been? He shot me from very far away, I was going 90 and outbreaked it. Could have been stalker.... hmmmm

Police are not dumb, but why let them in on a test?

Because most of us cant afford $3000 LIDAR guns or $2000 radar systems?

This would be way too cool! 8)

    Some ideas:

I/O tests should be performed at roughly 75% of the C/O maximum range results from TEST 1 so that you know that you definitely are within the C/O detection window. Likewise for TEST 3, first determine at what distance the Pro78 detects C/O radar before cresting the hill. Then simply holler "Now!" over your cell phone for the subsequent over-the-hill I/O tests once you have passed a bit beyond the point where the RD began to detect C/O before cresting the hill.

These tests would be really neat to see. Even neater would be if you repeated the I/O tests with shorter I/O blasts which last a mere 1 second since 1 second definitely is above the I/O threshold which I measured in my simple I/O tests for my Pro78 review, and since Belscort models seem to need at least a full 1 second I/O blast to alert to relatively weak I/O signals.

Aside from video footage, could you also take some photos and keep really good notes which you can refer to later? I might be interested in adding your results, comments, general observations, and links to your videos to my Pro78 review.

They have them in Florida, but I don't believe any members in Texas besides KustomEagle have Radar. Texas people definitley do not have LIDAR devices to my knowledge, although rr.net borrowed some guns from his sponsor.

If the DPS officer is cool, I say why not.
