6 Months Pro 78 Review
I ran these:
It is extremely customizable to your taste and needs. Alert tones, blinking LED's, etc. Also it is nice to have adjustable filter modes.
It definitley detects X well, though not as well as previous Whistler models. It is still very adequate, and does not false as much.
I have had some very good K band saves with my Pro 78. Detecting I/O K is a piece of cake for a Pro 78! With filter mode it owns around the curve K band, even on weak speed signs!
Wow.... Definitley a huge upgrade from all previous Whistler models. Reliable I/O detection, great detection range! Is definitley near if not with the x50 and vectors in performance. It does not false much either due to Cobras.
Decent detection, has not missed an alert for me above 600 feet. At the time it was mounted low optimized for laser detection.
Price Vs Performance:
The Whistler Pro 78 can be gotten for around 130 to 180. For the money you spend, it offers exceptional protection on all bands when configured and mounted correctly.
It is supprisingly quiet around the city, no false alerts that are not visually identifiable. On Ka it is queit even on Filter mode... Very rare do you get a false from a leaky cobra!
Michael B is the man. If he can't fix your problem, no one can.
It is readable at ALL TIMES. I love it.
Nice and loud, those blinking LED's and customizable alert tones really get your attention. My only complaint is the K band tone is too passive for my taste on all 3 tones. Ka and X are fine.
I love my Pro 78 and plan to keep it until Whistler releases new remote install models
For all looking at a detector with a price limit of 130-250 or so, get the Pro 78, you won't regret it!
