...LOL....I have had the Whistler Pro 78 rev C for about a week....man it is just great. Got it "tuned" to where it works best in my area and it picks up K/Ka band from three four times farther than that "new" Cobra ever did. Just great. So of course once bitten with the bug I have ordered and received a new XTR 690 and a backup Whistler XTR 330. Dont laugh...the little 330 got a work out today and picked up two LEO's from well over a mile itself...so it will be my backup So the Pro 78 is in the Silverado...the XTR 690 is in the GTO and the lil 330 is in my toolbox ready for backup. You guys are sick and I blame you.

Nah....heck I cannot even see the display on the XTR690 so why would I wait for a system that "displays" a frequency or anything else I cannot even see? Seriously the display is washed out...on bright....dim anything....in normal sunlight...I can see it OK in the garage but other than that I am dependent on the voice. I am not a critical person at all.....but the display on the XTR 690 is a joke. I bought it for the radar detection anyway. I assume the XTR 695 has the same display? My Pro 78 I can see plain as day in all types of sunlight....but that XTR 690 is lacking significantly in the display arena.

yeah, that's why i aint getting 695 too. 690 is very good if u don't care for the display.

i never look at 690 display so it works for me.

FWIW, on the 695, can't you have different colors display for different alerts??? That might be helpful. Plus, where did you get your 690 from? The early releases can be updated with a newer lens that keeps the display from being as washed out looking, IIRC.
