I was behind a cop who was running KA radar, came up to a stoplight and started to pick up a K band alert from a false. Then it kept going off for the K band. and after I got past the false spot it stopped alerting to the K band but did not pick up the KA. I waited about 10 seconds (while still driving behind the cop) and turned off my RD then turned it back on and got a full blast of KA, till I had to turn. Is there a glitch that causes this? I'm pretty sure that KA should have pri. over all other bands.
I disagree respectfully....My Pro78 has no issues with multiple alarms....K/Ka bands either...
Are you sure?
Do you know that if receive X band alert first (it's for exaple false) don't get K band alert untill X signal won't finish even if X false is weeker now? (And vice versa)
But K/Ka bands affair is a different kind of animal:
If you have dual signals - K and Ka - which one will be shown on Pro78? Ka - no matter how strong/weak it is, or simply stronger one?
Priority of the signals is for me very strange thing in Pro78.
I think the X/K band issue is because the Pro78 sweeps those together, but it is a new sweep for KA so that takes priority.....this was discussed a while back.

All of this is very interesting, thanks for your guys help. I will send a PM to Michael B if I have any other encounters and the same thing happens. It is only about 2 weeks old, so I may as well try to find other things wrong. I really have noticed how narrow the horn must be, I think that this helps because it greatly reduces the falses from door openers. Sadly I still get some K falses on Filter 2.

I have X band turned off. I was getting a level 2-3 K band alert and a I/O Ka band knocked it off at a Ka level 9.....after the LEO went by it went back to a K band this time a level 5-6 and I saw the speed trailer "sign" down the road...so I have only seen it work.

The filter is mainly used to cut down on KA falses from other radar detectors, not the K- band door openers.
Mike B. is great though he'll fix and tune up your Pro 78, then you'll have the peace of mind that is performing the best it can.
