Default XTR 695 On The Way

Well I broke down and purchased an XTR 695. Danny from Buy Radar Detectors was as professional as they come. I bought it today and it is already shipped. I think I have found my new favorite place. On top of his excellent service, he is as honest as they come, and as many of you know this is RARE in this industry

Congrats. I am on the verge my buying myself one and I took one final look on Radarbusters and it says the Bel Vector 955 is the best under $200. Is this only because they don't have the Whistler 695 on their site?

The 955 is a great PERFORMING choice. The 695 is a great ALL around choice meaning FEATURE rich AND has good performance

Thanks for the info, I'll stick with the 695. It fits my budget and has nice features; from the performance point of view, is the 695 really that far below the Bel I referred to earlier? I especially like the ability to assign different bands to select colors. I'm pretty new to the whole radar scene so this information helps me a lot.

EDIT: By the way, the thread here says in my county they have K band, but I assume there is Ka too.

Well how about that ! It took you a while to give the Pro 78 a chance after MEM-TEK's advice. It didn't take you long on the xtr-695 I'm ordering my 695 my next pay check. Mike B and the Whistler team made a amazing product. Now if they could brainstorm a laser jammer up.

The founder of stealthvation finally breaks down and buys a Whistler XTR-695.
I wonder what chapter and verse of HappyA$$ this will be found.. After Googling Radar detector tests for the XTR695, I have found that the XTR-695 should equal the Bel Vector line in detection with unique features that only Whistler developed.
I plan to put my XTR695 aginst several K band speed sign in my area and see how it compares to the PR078. While the Pro78 has very good Ka band detection, I find it trails a Bel 995 and Bel RX65 by 7 to 9 seconds in range at 40 mph on K band. It looks like the radar detection on X and K band has been increased according to the some of the tests I checked at speed zones.
