Is the Whistler Pro-3450 much like the V1?

I don't understand, other than hiding the detector, how it works. Does it provide better scanning for the front and back of your car?

I believe the Pro-3450 is based off the Antenna of the Pro 73 which was a Good detector i owned. I'm sure it would give good protection.

Thanks. I think I'll go with this instead the Pro 73 & XTR 695. Was just browsing through Whistlergroup.com and stumbled upon it. I wonder if it mounts to the front and back of your car.

I would highly recommend a 78,or a 695 for better Ka protection cause you are going to need it.

X2. Ka is deadly. i think my Department uses Ka 35.5 as the Pro 78 has short distances with it (only at angles and from behind.)

I recommend you get the Pro 78 or XTR 695. I agree with Jag42 1000%

I believe the problem with the 3450 has a lot to do with it's low grill mounting position. Mount it higher somehow and then I believe it would perform better.

God only knows how the Bel remote detectors take care of this problem??

Its based off a total different design than the Pro 78 and 695. These 2 models have increased coverage and Filter settings. The only complaint i had with my Pro 73 is that it falsed all the time because of no filter settings. 3 Filter settings are on Pro 78,690,695.

I am tempted to get on of these because the performance is reputed to be far better then my 3300 which has a lot of features I really like except the performance.

Go for it if u can stand the un bearable falses from Cobra,Uniden,Pni Rd's that leak Ka band up to a mile sometimes.
