The Whistler XTR-695 and the Pro78 will both outperform your Cobra. What's your budget?

    x2.

The more expensive Whistler units will beat out any Cobra unit by a wide margin.

Also look into the V940 or V955 from Beltronics.

Whatever you do: Get rid of you Cobra.

Welcome back ! Whistler Pro 78 or a xtr 695 will suit you well. The v955 is an option but with less features.

Just so you know, the entire Whistler line is getting revamped in a month or two. Supossedly they've really done their homework, so if you can wait it might serve you well

This question is asked alot. Basically:

If you want good filtering, good performance, many features, and a quiet detector that does not occasionally filter out I/O radar, go with the Whistler Pro 78/XTR-695

If you want pure performance, less features with more false alerts, go with a Bel Vector 940/955.

Whistler>Cobra any day. Even some of the budget whistlers out perform Cobras that cost twice as much.

    Night and day difference.

The XTR695 easily plays with the big boys.

    The Cobras do not.

Unless by big you mean 'overweight'. I've seen a lot of Cobras in cars parked at fast food joints
