Default How well do the pro 78 and the xtr-695 pick up 35.5 ka band.

I wanted to get one as a back up and maybe just switch it up a little from the V1. The leo here all use 35.5 heavily wheather is constant on and I/O. Wheater its curvy hilly, forward facing and off axiss. I was wonder how well does the pro 78 or the xtr 695 do against 35.5 ka band with my circumstances. Thanks

Decent but not mind blowing performance. 33.8 GHz Ka is where the Pro 78 seems to struggle according to the GOL test. I would love a pro 78 as a secondary detector but thats after I get a jammer and then after I get a V1 so not a priority for me.

how decent would you say, enought time with constant on or what.

Would you say it is worth the money and would be a good urban are detector.

It depends on how fast you are going. Look for your self. Get the 695 so you can tell what frequency Ka it is.

Here in the Puget Sound area, I have encountered 35.5 C/O AND I/O. The alerts have been fairly consistent .6 to .7 miles on roads with curves, in high humid conditions. A Beltronic RX65 or Vector 996 will do slightly better by about .1 to.2 miles.

Lets not forget that 35.5 is an awful band to detect. I got hit with 35.5 a couple weeks ago and I am not lying the 9500ixs performance SUCKED. Got .4 miles straight away, the detectors ramp-up was very inconstant and the minute I turned of onto another street it lost it even though I could still see the cruiser.

I agree 35.5 suckes here. The V1 does pretty bad with forward facing and off axiss. It does pretty decent with over the hill and good aweasome with straight forward. I just wanted onter detecotor to play around and just switch it up a little. But in the mean time need a good detector to play around and to protect me while I drive. I only go 10-15 MPH over the Speed Limits any away.

Luckily for me the only police that use 35.5 Ka are Metro Nashville, and maybe THP. Metro uses mostly laser anyway and I rarely make long trips so no THP normally.

I don't have a Pro 78 but my XTR 695 picks up 35.5 well. The two models are supposed to be similar in actual radar detection.

I have not actually estimated the distance yet because the use of 35.5 is sporadic here, but it does pick it up. 35.5 seems to be an issue out there and growing in use in some areas. I've only picked up 35.5 in town - not on the highway yet. Most of the LE here uses Ka - most of the locals C/O. Watch those hills and curves. Around here they like to hide in chuch parking lots.....
