XTR 690SE claim from Whistler?

I am excited with the above statement that came from buyradardetectors. What do you all think?

Very interesting... I wonder if this also applies to the 695/Pro 78 series.

I can believe it.....I love my new V1 but since I got my XTR-695 back from warranty I have used it a few times and was impressed. It was silent with a lot of my known falses but great with real threats...That being said, I could see Whistler taking a step up and making a even better competing RD....I always thought of Whistler as a low budget Radar Detector because they are sold at Walmart but after owning one I can see how they can be a top contender for sure.

I have always wondered....Why does a RD need a compass....I'm not bashing just wondering what the need would be.

i myself am horrible at figuring out which way i am going, 690 does a good job at constanly showing that when there is no radar action.

i prefer compass on display when there is no radar signal than staring at the blank display.
