    Default After 3100 miles W/Pro78SE

I have been testing my repaired unit and so far here is what I am experiencing.

35.5 performance is good and in my opinion on this detector it performs better on 35.5 than 34.7 hands down. I had a LEO rolling towards me in New Mexico running constant on 35.5 and I picked him up a total of 2.5 miles.

34.7 in wide open flat areas has given me no more than 1.5 miles of alert in perfect conditions.

In forward facing 34.7 I am not getting any more than .1 mile alert before and .8 mile past the officer.

In high humidity performance drops more. All detectors do.

Earlier yesterday I-20 eastbound mile marker 7 Mississippi, trooper in the middle median facing west. Just a small rise, not a hill, a rise like 2 foot elevation change.
He is running constant on pointed west, and as I approach I get ka1 just before the edge of the rise and 2 seconds later I see him about 500 feet ahead and its ka9. I recall muttering thats pathetic.

so to sum it up 34.7 on mine is weak. 35.5 is good. How will yours perform?
Just have to wait for the vids to start rolling in.

Oh I forgot. K-band is good, not real hot but good. But I have been picking up alot of strong K-band falses from non police sources. Not automatic doors, but relay towers that do not set off my V1 or my STI.

    Updated 05/30
I also was able to do a comparison against my V1 with a stationary Texas DPS unit on 34.7. Heres how I did it, I passed him in an open area and he had a victim stopped on the right shoulder. Approx 1 mile up the road was a truckstop and it was almost empty. I took the exit and turned into the truckstop and positioned my truck facing the dps unit until my Pro 78se was alerting ka1 and sometimes dropping the signal. The DPS unit was slightly off axis. With my whistler alerting at level 1 and dropping the signal from time to time I powered it off, replaced it with my V1 in the same location on the dash and powered up the V1. 4-5 lights of ka 34.7 on the V1 when the Pro78se was struggling to hold the signal at ka1.

Your review seems inline with the others so far. 35.5 better than 34.7?? Wow. Considering how much Stalker Ka is used especially among state highway patrols I don't want a detector that is weak on 34.7 GHz. I'd take weakened 35.5 performance because it is understandable but chitty 34.7 performance won't cut it. Period. How can Whistler users argue superior I/O detection when C/O Ka is only being picked off at a couple hundred feet?

I dont know Clay, I am looking forward to seeing others videos and their performance on 34.7 in forward facing and non wide open settings to see if they experience the poor performance I am.

Try testing with Ka Max turned off. I am wondering if its a firmware issue.

    Wow, only .01 mile and .08 mile? That's really short since .01 mile = 52.8 feet and .08mile = 422.4 feet.

Good point I forgot to mention my settings. KAMAX id, filter 2,Highway mode.

I got too many falses on ka running filter and filter1 modes. Lots of rd's on the Highway.
