improve the packing! or I will never buy Whistler again!!

I bought 3 whistler RDs in last 2 months.
Pro78se,XTR-690se and XTR-140...
PRO78se camed in Box..But 690se and 140 camed with plastic clamshells..

690se and XTR-140 had cosmetic blemishes by front sensor window.
I am guessing,blems cause by Rubbing against hard plastic clamshell.

Why not attached plastic film to protect the Front sensor window???????

Whistler need to improve on packing or I will never buy Whistler Products again!!!

holy crap thats a big picture...try downsizing the picture a bit in the editing part..but ya, i wouldnt like to buy a brand new radar and it have scuff marks from the factory..

send them in to whistler have them replace. That's unacceptable for being brand new. Between this and a possible week 34.7. Sounds like these units where pushed way to fast to get out the door. I really think all units should be pulled there could be tons of units with these scuff marks and maybe even internal problems with ka 34.7. I dont ever recall these types of problems on this scale with the original 78 and 690. This is highly problematic.

I didn't care about blem on my whistler XTR-140,cuz I only paid $40 not a big deal..
but 690se Blem is right in the middle on Lens/window..this is unacceptable...this may cause weak/delay signal pickup.

Well it shouldn't cause a delay in signal pickup. But if its over the laser bubble lens that could cause problems.

It just looks bad actually but that is enough to complain IMO.

Yeah the lens should not have any scuffing on it. Especially since the way the detector is mounted it wouldn't gain any scuff marks to begin with. So if it's and area of the detector that doesnt really gain scuff marks then the factory should make sure that the wrapping does not effect it in return.

Yes,My 78 camed with box and protective film over lens..
But I am talking about XTR-140 and 690SE which camed in hard plastic without protective film over lens/window..
