Default Scary I/O encounter today 34.7

I was hauling in the left lane around 85 on my way home and got a quick blip of Ka band. .4 miles later got blasted with a quick-trigger of 34.7 I got a very weak 1-2 strength alert knowing i was just quick-triggered around 100 ft from TX DPS. He was quick-triggering all the traffic ahead of me. I was in FILTER mode so maybe would have been to late for FILTER 2 for me.

The XTR-695SE is my first RD in a while - the fact that you can get the freq on Ka hits is, I'm sure, old hat to you veterans, but a really nice feature nonetheless. Saved me in a similar situation this weekend, a weak 2-strength Ka hit with a frequency (which of course I don't remember) before rounding a bend in the highway and seeing him off in the distance coming straight for me, on the opposite side of the median. A couple more, stronger hits (fortunately after I'd slowed a mite) confirmed the tale.

I've noticed that the XTR-690se doesn't usually display a frequency during those quick Ka bursts. I'm not sure that I would have believed it.

They are getting very skilled with it and being very selective. They know if they release The hold button for more than 2 seconds you can pick them off 2-3 miles.

Wow! Very nice save! I'm glad to hear that the Rev C does well on QTIO. I'm anxious to see how the new SEs do in that respect. This is something that is becoming ubiquitous in Texas, and I'm sure others can expect to see it soon too. Those with heavily filtered detectors are going to be in jeopardy.
