    Default Big Van Range???

I'm wondering I had to rent a very large chevy express 8 passenger van because my relatives where in town and I was driving them around. I had my V1 and my Bell and Whistler all mounted. I ran them individual I alternated them. But the one thing I can't figure out was when I was in the Van. I got not just bad range but awful range on all my RD units. I thought something was wrong I check the output power on the plug. I test it and it was fine. I thought my detectors where going bad which I thought that was sorta impossible. I then stuck my V1 and my whistler in my car later that evening and drove around for a hour and finally pick up a few ka. My range was back to normal. Stuck them back in the Van next morning drove relatives around range awful again. I have no idea why this is the windshield doesn't look like it has any coating on it or anything. The windhsield is extremely flat in front there is almost no angle to it at all. So who knows.

It has made me extremely nervous driving around in that van. Not just that but its a b i t c h to drive.

Could be the windshield. I forgot what its called but certain windshield that are designed to reflect sunlight will greatly reduce RD performance due to metallic particles in the glass.

Athermic windshields appear to have a purple tint, when looked at through polarized sunglasses.

On the V1 you will notice the alerts coming from the rear antenna when you have one of those windshields.

My father has it on his car and I have to mount the V1 right next to the mirror mount to find a spot the front antenna can see through.
