Default XTR690se vs Pro78se

Hey everyone, I'm in need of a new RD and I'm having a hard time to choose between a 690se or pro78se. I'm a little more interested in the 690se but I've heard that the 690se may have some problems with 34.7Ka guns. Any suggestions?

I have tested both and did not notice a problem with 34.7 but some have...I like the blue display of the 78se myself.

Fwiw. I was down to these two RD's, and chose the 78se because of the blue display. From what I've read it seem easier to read than the red. Just my take though.

I had both 78se and 690se..
Somehow my 690se was more sensitive against K band and Ka band..
So I sold the 78SE,and bought 9500ix

Both have the exact same detection capabilities. The XTR-690SE has a red display and a compass. The Pro78SE has a blue display, autodimming and comes with a hardwire kit.

The compass on my 695 was a pain in the arse. Only because I had to remove it while going into stores and such. It never stayed calibrated.

If you can keep it in one place and not move it, it should work fine. However, if you move it any, you will be driving in circles a lot trying to calibrate it. LOL

You can substitute the volt meter instead of the compass if you hold the dark and quiet button down for a few seconds on the 690, 695, 690SE and 695SE.

If the bracket stays in the same place on the windshield, removing the unit from the bracket will not cause you to re calibrate. Only if you move the mounting bracket will you have to recalibrate the compass.
