    Default Pro 78se 34.7Ka video 9/8/2009

I was out getting a Redbox movie rental when I heard on my scanner that the UHP are trying to locate and chase down two vehicles. So I drove toward where they said they were headed. They got the vehicles they were looking for about 20 minutes after I first heard them on the radio. I often hear them attempting to locate aggressive or other problematic drivers, so don't think you won't get pulled over just because you have good RDs or Jammers.

The initial faint alert did not show RSID and it was strange that the voice that should have announced "Ka Band" did not come on. I double checked later and the Pro 78se did have the VOICE turned on.

I got a bit of a scare on the way home, because of what I saw in my RVM a little after the Pro 78se alerted Ka band with no RSID.

Happens to me somewhat frequently. More often than not, I get a quick 1-2 strength Ka alert with no RSID that disappears. Shortly thereafter, I'll get a 1-2 strenght Ka alert with the frequency which ramps up as I approach the LEO.

This morning I got a full Ka 9 with no RSID and wrote it off as a false. However, it ramped down to a Ka 5 in about 2 sec and displayed a 33.8. No LEO in sight.

what is funny is that almost any RD would do good in your area, nice long flats, no trees, wide turns. Come to Michigan if you really want to crap scared out of you. You get one alert and the LEO is right in front of you already.

It's never satisfying when you get a radar alert, but can't find the source.

    Hence why I pine for a V1.

On a side note, I got a sudden and full strength 33.8 Ka 9 alert on the way home. A few blocks from the 33.8 alert this morning, but in a different city. Not sure what's going on here. Didn't see any LEOs, but traffic was very heavy.

Yes, it's very possible that any RD would do good in my area.

We have plenty of sneaky cops who just loves to surprise their customers as well. I've only been back playing with a RD for like 3 month. I just haven't had many of those encounters on videos yet.

I was having fun with the 2nd video showing what many of us might be thinking if we see a patrol car coming up from behind with their lights and sirens on.

How many of you Pro 78 Se owners have gotten a ka9 34.3 alert? I have gotten only a couple but they were both this week. Acts like a rd false, happens in heavy traffic.

From what I have experienced short ka burst don't give the unit time to recognize the id and could be a sign of real activity coming shortly. It takes a few seconds normally to recognize the id in my observations.

When I was sitting watching the cop quick trigger a block from me, 9 out of 10 shots showed no id. Only one showed 34.7, and it was a 2-3 second shot.

Me too. I would buy a V1 this instant if they come out with a more updated display and the ability to show radar frequency.

    .
I have never seen 34.3 Ka on mine. I have seen 34.0 Ka3-4 a couple of times in the last 3 month. I assumed they were false from other RDs.

I would think if the Whistler had to ID Ka band on a quick trigger alert it would be slow at reporting it. I also believe it takes a good steady 2-3 seconds for Ka recognition. I have a good way of testing this when i get my SE. Good videos Mike !
