Default Possible to change ONLY k-band alert tone on 690SE?

Is it possible to change the K-band alert tone to the double beep from City mode? I'd like to get rid of that annoying K-band squawk.

I don't like using Autoquiet or Mute as they might suppress a real Ka alert.

I believe you have 3 tones to select from. Have you listened to the difference of each of the 3?

I like to run mine in city mode cause I like the double beep alert. City mode will not hurt your k or ka band performance, and you will get ka voice alert if you encounter a ka signal while alerting to a k band signal. Why not just run it in city mode all the time like I do?

I use Tone 3, it was the default setting on the unit.

I want the initial unique audio alert that identifies the source as Ka. The split second it takes to either look at the display or wait for the "Ka Band" voice alert could mean the difference between braking and getting a ticket.

Well try tone 1 or 2 and see how you like them.

Just tried them. Definitely not a fan of Tone 2, but Tone 1 quiets the K-band alert a little. I'd still rather keep Tone 3, but simply change the K-band alert to the 2 beeps from city mode. Any way to reprogram this, even if it means sending it in to Mike B?

Something tells me the alert sounds are fixed to the various Tone options. Probably no way to change them further.

Run it in city mode, get the 2 beeps at initial alert and 2 more beeps as the signal gets to 5 or higher. I prefer mine in city mode when driving in the city. Makes all the k band doors and speed signs much more tolerable without losing any alerts by turning off bands.

Thats why I like city mode. No loss of sensitivity or instant on performance, but much quieter around town.
