I was on my way back to work and was coming up over a overpass and got blasted by a city cop I/O K band. This was a WTF moment because 90% of LPD runs Constant on. But recently they have been switching to Ka band 35.5. I was doing 10 over but he never gave chase.

I hate when that happens. Even with the CB it can happen if no one says anything. I cant tell you how many times I have had a leo in hiding shoot me at night and scare the bejesus out of me.

I/O means they shoot soon as they see ur car?
Q/T is they just on and off the radar even there is no car
right?

Q/T is considered shooting at any car for 1 second or less just long enough to get the speed displayed on the radar gun, then releasing the trigger.
I/O is considered shooting at any car for more then 1 second and keeping the radar on for several seconds 3-5 to get a tracking history to confirm the speed they are reading is the target they are aiming at.

Constant on is when the officer has the radar in the on position all the time.

Wow, those encounters are always scary. I haven't had one like that yet on either of my detectors and I hope I never do.
