My Ka encounters this weekend

Deported Lubbock, tx 8:00 Pm to Albuquerque NM. No video (night time)

Pro 78 (REV C) speed 12-15 over PSL 70

FILTER MODE,POP OFF,LASER OFF,X OFF

TOTAL NUMBER OF Ka FALSES : 6 weak Ka 1-3 ramp ups from other RD's



Littlefield,Tx- Ka blips 1-2,-1.4 miles Local LEO shooting I/O Ka ( guessing 35.5) in a Grocery store parking lot facing me stationary.

Farwell,Tx - (State line) Ka 1,2 every 4-6 seconds- 1.8 miles DPS I/0 34.7 Ka

Clovis, NM- Short blip of Ka band - .4 miles forward facing NM SP 35.5 Ka with costumer.

FT Sumner, NM - Ka band alerts- .5 miles ahead 4 Local LEOS hanging out in a parking lot talking and forward facing. between 2 buildings.

Santa Rosa, NM (10 miles outside) Ka band alerts 1-3 .and continues for 1.5 miles. Going over 4 hills and stronger ramp up (Constant on) another 1.5 miles i find a Local LEO stationary (Lights off) on the side of the road running Constant on radar on top of small hill where radar can be seen for miles.

Way back home ....

4 corners,NM- NM State Police Ka 35.5 Constant on detection of 2.1 miles over 2 small hills.

Muleshoe,tx- (12 miles outside) Ka brief alerts of 1 every second. 3/4 ahead DPS moving I/O 34.7

Shallowater,Tx- DPS moving I/O Ka 34.7 - 1.6 miles of detection.

My whole point of the trip was take pictures of the Balloon fiesta in ALBQ. I got to go up this year in a balloon so i took over 500+ pics which left no room for encounter videos. I crew every year for Wonderlust balloons. Our ballon this year was TIMEPEACE which featured Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon album cover on one side and peace signs on the other sides. Wow, you got great range against TX DPS. My alert distance against them is usually half a mile or less. 1.6 miles is incredible.

Wow..nice encounters and documentation Jag. Nicer still is the pic....the Floyd concept is cool as hell. I have always wanted to go up in a balloon but the idea of it scares the ****e out of me!

Sometimes i can achieve 2.5 miles ..It depends of how trigger happy they are.
My 3/4 of a mile sucked from Tx DPS. 80% of this area is very flat and wide open.

What blew my mind was Constant on Ka of 3 miles in a very hilly terrain outside of Santa Rosa NM.

Looks like you had a real good time. I am kinda scared of heights, so I would be going up in a balloon. Sounds like the Whistler got a work out too and paid for itself in one trip.

Ahhh TX DPS... A formidable foe I have not gone up against in quite some time..

Whistler sure makes an EXCELLENT detector I/O encounters, especially stalker.

Being able to detect quick trigger rules... to bad for Escort users

Ive been really busy with work, I have a really nasty commute but there is rarely speed enforcement (Beltway 8 and I-10 to 45 North, up to the woodlands). No more driving between Nacogdoches and Houston

I get hit by laser every now and then(when I am not sitting still in traffic) but my jammer takes care of it

Most of my radar encounters are constables running CO Ka on a flat straight street (Wilcrest)...

Im sticking with my Pro 78 I think... its still a fine detector.

I'm not sure ! We were up to 3-4,000 at one point
