Reason I ask is we have found people who tried the SE models that live in LA and Southern Califorina had a problem with the SE units falsing on KA quite a lot.

Other members here do not have very many ka falses, and it appears to not be as much an issue in more rural areas with less traffic.

I have owned two SE units and the 35.5 performance is good.

MIKESLC lives in Salt lake City, Ut and has posted several 35.5 videos of his Pro 78SE. Depending on your terrain you may or may not get the same performance.

You will be happy with the performance of the Pro 78SE on 35.5 in flat more rural areas.

At that price point, I personally would suggest the refurbished Escort 8500 from Escort's Ebay page over the Whistler because

    1. You live in a huge metropolis, so the Whistler will likely have lots of Ka band false alerts, while the Escort will have almost no Ka band false alerts.

    2. The Escort 8500 will have better 35.5 sensitivity.
