Default Whistler 1793 - help -Speaker Dead

    Hi

I bought a Whistler 1793 from someone who assured me it was working fine. only to find it does not make a sound

Unfortunately the person who sold it to me says that is it my "tough luck"

Did a factory reset - and still nothing.

Would appreciate any help in obtaining a replacement speaker

    Regards from NZ
    Mark

If you are in NZ there is a Whistler Distributor there that may be able to help you.

Search the internet and you should find one or two locations

I have a Whistler from a long while back, its volume control is crackly.

Most likely its just a dirty on/off volume control switch/rheostat. Try exorcising it for a few minutes.

I had and older Whistler 1750 and the speaker quit twice. The first time I contacted Whistler and they sent me a new speaker FREE!! At that time I had it troubleshot to the speaker. The second time, about a month ago, the speaker quit again. This time I just coughed up the money and bought the new Pro78SE. I couldn't trust the old Whistler anymore. When the speaker quit, you would just drive waiting for an audio alert and you would never get it. I was pulled over once when that happened the first time. Very unreliable.

Just get the new one and call it good. BTW.....I think the last time the speaker quit, it actually was the units audio and not the speaker.

The blue flashing lights on newer Whistler units are a nice feature but it totally kills the stealth
