Today, I drove from College Station to Houston and had the chance to do some highway testing with the Pro 78SE. Here is what I ran into:

Whistler Pro 78SE has no problem detecting two K band speed signs. One sign is on my side and the other is on the other side of the highway facing the other direction. So far, I am impressed with K band detection.
The Pro 78SE saved me for the first time during this encounter. I was cruising about 15 over PSL in a construction zone; then I get a brief K alert. I drop to the PSL. About five seconds later, I crest a hill and get blasted with K band from a Brazos County Sheriff. Apparently, Brazos County Sheriff has copied TX DPS and is now using I/O No video of this encounter; I circled back around to try to get the trap on camera but the LEO already had someone pulled over by then.
During this encounter, I had both my 9500ci and Whistler on:

This was a very clever off-axis trap since the white Chevy Tahoe looks like a normal car in the parking lot. I went ahead and approached the trap from the opposite direction to see how both detectors would perform:

I circled back around. This time I was running the V1 3.813 and 9500ci:

In my opinion, the Pro 78SE is a highway detector. I've driven it around College Station and downtown Bryan and the amount of Ka (strength 9) falses I get in Filter mode is incredible. Filter 1 cuts the Ka falses a little. I have not noticed the Whistler misidentifying K and X band yet. So far, I am impressed with how well the Pro 78SE performs on the highway. More reports to come in the future.
