Recomendations for instant on K

Like the title says...I'm looking for an RD for instant on K. The staties in PA are the only ones allowed to use radar and this is the band that they use. I was looking at a refub'd Escort 8500 or a new Whistler Pro 78SE. Which would be better for PA? Or are there any other recommendations for instant on K? I have read this whole forum for a few days now and am still unsure which one to get.

The one thing the Whistler Pro series excells at is quickly ramping up to IO. Keep in mind the Pro SE series has a max Ka band setting but not K or X band max.
Having said that, i've had some really good detection distances for K band with both my Pro SE and non-SE's.
If there is no Ka band in your state, you might get off cheaper with a Pro non-SE such as the xtr78, xtr690 or xtr695.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the Whistlers have a 3 year warranty while the others come nowhere near that.

I'd also look into the Valentine One.

Keep in mind that having a good RD is only half the battle when it comes to I/O. No matter how good of a RD you have, it will not save from I/O if you are the FIRST target. So, you will also need to start using rabbits so you aren't the first target. Relying on blind luck and a good RD against I/O will only get you so far...
