Whistler SE alerting to Tractors over 1/2 a mile.

I just got back from New Mexico. Thursday night i got a 1/2 mile 35.5 Ka constant on from a LEO Forward facing with a victim in Tatum NM. I also ran in to some 34.7 from NMSP ! They were parked at the State police office in Roswell NM. Here is the interesting thing. I kept getting K band alerts every now and then outside Plains,tx way out in the middle of no where there was no traffic it was 1am. I confirmed Tractors plowing the fields when K band pegged up to 1-3 strength. Each tractor was spread out by 2-3 miles and recieved 1/2 mile K alerts from them. Some tractors emit K band from there GPS and guidance systems.

it has nothing to do with the GPS and all for the measuring of speed, they measure the speed by pointing a k-band emitter at the ground.

I had no idea Thanks for the correction. I used to live out in the sticks and by a field and years ago My Rd's would go nuts and i wish i knew why back then.

I passed a tractor the other day in central California by the fields. He was heading north on the road and I was going south. I got no alert approaching but as I passed I got about a 5 light rear arrow alert on my V1. For a second I though I was the victim of instant on. Darned tractors.

Living out in the boonies, i also get alerts when passing by farm implements sometimes but not always!
Just assumed they were running safety radar for when they travel on the road.

i could have told you that jag, also the reason you got stronger from the rear is that the radar is aimed backwards towards the ground for ground speed controllers..........
