    Default 693se range

Recently I bought a 693se to replace my vector 985 cause ive read good things about the ka max on the new whistlers. After two weeks of driving the ka range seems to be about half of what my 985 would give me. Is this normal or maybe something wrong with my 693? I have pop off,ka max id on.

It depends, i would think that it should be better the whistler that is...but i guess it would depend on the encounter. KA max is really good in some situations but i'm not familar with the vector series...my bel RX is better in ka then the whistlers. that's for sure.

2 weeks is too little to find out how it preforms. Give it at least a month.

Do Whistlers require the "antenna break in period" that the Escorts supposedly do?

No break in period is needed.
What frequency of Ka radar is used in your area? 33.8, 34.7, 35.5?

Are you talking about 35.5 forward facing?

I always had pretty good detection against 35.5. Some better than others...off axis was a killer on 35.5, but forward facing or coming right at me real good.

What i'd like to know is if Whistler SE's require a tune-up or need to be re-calibrated after a length of time supposedly like V1's and maybe some EscoBels.
Seem to remember asking this question here before and never got an answer.
