Whistler 695se auto dim help

Hello, just received this detector and trying to set it up. I've seen in all the reviews it has auto dim, varying the display according to light conditions, but nowhere in the manual do I see how to set it to auto.
Anyone know the secret?

well if it's auto, then it should be auto. I personally haven't used the Whistlers, but i'm guessing a manual came with it that will indicate if there is a setting or not. Is it not adjusting to the light conditions at all?

695se does not have auto dim but it does have many choices of the display backlight colors as well as backlight conditions when alarming vs. not alarming.

The 78 and 78se have auto dim

That's from one of the many on-line ads for this specific model, so I wasn't sure what I was missing.

If that is what you read in an ad for the 695se, then the ad is wrong.

That description is correct for the 78 and 78SE
