I've been a Cobra user for about 27 years now. My 9950 with (optional gps unit) went bad, so I purchased a XTR 690SE. Everything worked okay except the X and K bands quit picking up door openers. The Ka band seemed to be not as good either as it used to be. I new it should be picking these up because it used too and my other detector (Escort 9500i in Wife's car) still do. It was cheaper to just get a new one than fix it. Back to Whistler; I bought a XTR 695SE a year ago and returned it because of display and falsing. I said in one of my old post, that it was the worst detector I'd bought. I was wrong and apologize. I should have kept it longer and gotten used to it. I like the 78se and 690se displays better! After reading alot of info here, I thought I try again. Falsing still the same as 695se, displays better! It came with and Intellicord and a Lighter Socket Adaptor or Splitter. I'll try some of the info here and get used to it. Only bad thing happened was when I was putting the cups and cushion pad on, the cushion pad sheared off! I have a bunch of old Cobra brackets and their cushions are same size an everything. They actually stay on better because they're not tapered. You just have to twist them alittle because of their flat heads on them. So save your old cobra brackets because there are two cushions on them. Great products! Just have to get used to change, wish me luck!
