Default Brand new Whistler 695 se

Just purchased the 695 se as a cheaper alternative to my escort 9500 ix. So I have Pop off, City 1 mode, SWS off and filter 2 on. I'm frustrated because I get TONS of false alerts when compared to my 9500ix with GPS Filter off, Highway mode with X-band on. Sometimes the 695 finds K band alerts in areas that my 9500 ix never finds...and sometimes the 9500 finds K band alerts that the 695 doesn't. Shouldn't they both find the same K bands???? Also it seems on City 1 mode, there still is some band confusion between x and K. Also sent the 695 se back to whistler to make sure its calibrated correctly...and apparently everything checked out ok. Further instruction would be much appreciated. Thanks

Turn POP off and only run Kamax on the Highways/Interstates. Ka max in town causes really bad Ka falses. I have a good collection of Whistler SE videos on my youtube channel below.

What you are experiencing is normal for Whistlers. They confuse bands. They false alot. A Bel v955 would have better approximated the performance of your 9500ix at a budget price point. The Bel v955 is even on sale right now.

When I had X on, it would go off at certain locations, with it off it still goes off at some of those locations as K...the same old X/K confusion

its all true what's been said above, but on the highway, my whistler does fine at alerting me to threats. But I'm mainly driving on 90 and 87 and 84 through rural areas where once you're out falses are rare......

You have a fine detector, the only thing I can really think that will help is to turn x band off, however it all depends on your location and if they are still running x band radar in your area.
I am sure Michael B will be able to get on here and suggest the setting that will work best for you to reduce the false alerts.

Its not physically allowed to turn off X band but you could try and sooner or later it will come up as K band. So unless Ka is your only concern you have better learn to love X and K alerts.
