I just received vid YouTube showing escort 8500 alerting ka to whistler 1730

Vg2 .? What I'm missing here , could some one explain !!

All radar detectors contain local oscillators as part of the superheterodyne circuit. The signal from these oscillators can leak out and set off other nearby RDs. This is why we recommend not running two RDs together, because they will interfere with each other.

VG2 is a radar detector detector, which looks for the LO oscillations from a radar detector. They are used by police in areas where RDs are illegal. VG2 is obsolete, however, the Spectre RDD has replaced it.

The only RDs that have no LO leakage are the M3-platform Bel and Escort units. These are the STi Driver, STi-R, STi-R+, Redline and 9500ci.

At close range, yes. The Spectre can pick it up easily. Like I mentioned earlier, the only undetectable detectors are the STi Driver, STi-R(+), 9500ci and Redline.

Now some detectors are worse than others when it comes to leakage and interfering with other detectors. Cobras are by far the worst, and can cause Ka falses on other detectors from 1/4 mile away. Friends don't let friends use Cobras...

Is this applies even if it was 50 meter between 2 detectors , he just told me I went 50 meter away from whistler and still escort getting ka signal when whistler option vg2 set on.

Are you sure VG-2 was just turned on and not reporting VG-2?

Yes. There is no ka police around
