So my friend witnessed my getto rigged V940 "S7" in action against Ka-Band and K-Band and thought I was some kind of sorcerer or something (the range is outrageous now). A few days later I stopped by his house and he handed me this Whistler and I read on the bottom 30R. He said, "can you work your magic on this thing?" I said I'd try. I tried to do a little research but from what I can tell this was a low end old Whistler from years ago. Am I correct? I took it apart and the horn is about 1/3 the size of my V940 "S7". It also has an LED for X-band and shares an LED for K & Ka-Band. I took it for a stroll and found an X-band source which was weak (it chirped) in comparison then onto some K-Band. I parked right in front of the supermarket and K-band never went off. I sat there for 5 minutes and nothing happened so to me K & Ka-Band is dead on this detector. Agreed? To double check I plugged in the V940 and sure enough BEEEEEEEEP! K-Band! I have a Pro-3450 just sitting around, is that better than this 30R even if they were both in their prime? I said I'd let him use the 3450. Some suggestive thoughts. I told him to just buy a new one or use my 3450. Any thoughts? I could fix this 30R but is it worth it?
