    Default Pro78se and XTR-658

Does anone know if the XTR-658 and the new Pro78se are the same but with different names. They look the same and have the same features. I found the 685 at Walmart and Sears but the 658 is not listed on Whistler site.

The 685 is only online and never have been any good at looking things up through fcc site.

I'll give it a try if you can wait a bit. The FCC three digit id is HSX for whistler and "wh" is their detectors.

HSXWH20 is the fcc id for both the 78 se..and the xtr 690

i believe the 658 "may" be the whistler/sears name plate for the 690

    not sure yet. :0

    Tell you one thing.

The cheaper whistler xtr 140 xtr 260 xtr 330 and xtr 500 ALL have crappy old gun diode radar detection circuity. Even Cobra have switched their whole line, even the cheapest one, out of this to LNA's.

The more expensive whistler 690 and 78 se don't use them.

Good to know. It doesn't use the old crappy gun diode set up does it or don't you know this. ? Looking up different Whistler detectors nomenclature is a real pain in the took-us I can tell you.
