Default Driving around with the new De1788R and recieved 2 warnings

of VG-2 in the same city of Edmunds, WA.

1). on a busy road called Hwy 99. (alot of stores..alot of stores)

2). in a very quite area.

is there any possible false signal that can cause a VG-2 alert?

gas stations can trigger a vg 2 alert. Some gas stations use different types of door openers. It could be a grocery store to. I normally turn vg2 off. Please remember when done with the detector pull it off the clip and put it in the glove box or in the house. If you treat your rd nicely it will inturn treat you nice as well.

Default Gas stations around on 1st alert only

2nd alert and there was no gas stations in this dark rural area. I know this small city has alot of $$$$ due to high ticket writing.

Check to see if it is hot. I noticed that when my 1788 got hot, it alerted to VG-2 all the time. Let it cool down and go back to the same spot that you got the alert and see if you get it again. I will be interested in the results.

I need VG-2 and anyone travel through VA will need it. Nice to have that choice. However, on Roy's site, the VG-2 could pick up the 1788 over 1200 feet!!! That isn't very good.

I may have misunderstood the report, but I take the reading as the 1788 read the VG-2 at a claimed 1,237 feet then shut down. Is this not correct, and would it be acceptable performance for the price of the unit?

    Thanx In Advance For Clarifying...

Naw, it meant that VG-2 could pick up the detector by that distance. Take a look at the top detectors, they weren't picked up.
