    Default Intellicord ?

I have never owed a Whistler but am interested in the XTR 560. Is the Intellicord similar in function to the Bel/Escort SmartCord? I didn't see a detailed explanation on their website.

    This is from Whistler's site:

Allows remote operation with one button control
Works on all Intelli-Cord ready laser-radar detectors
Programable - certain laser-radar detectors allow users to select which features are controlled by Intelli-Cord

Thanks boomerman, I was just hoping to get more details on the:
"Programable - certain laser-radar detectors allow users to select which features are controlled by Intelli-Cord"
. So is this cord something new for Whistler?

Sorry I could not provide you with more information.
The cord was introduced last fall.
They really do not say much about it.
Maybe Mike B. can give us some insight.

The intelli-cord can be used to provide 2 features that you select on the XTR-425, XTR-560, 1776, and 1778

If you enter the option mode you can select from the option of the Power, City, Quiet, Backlight and store as the S1 option.

If you enter the option mode you can select from the option of the Power, City, Quiet, Backlight and store as the S2 option.

S1 is a short press and release of the intelli-cord button.
S2 is a long press (1 second) and release of the intelli-cord buton.

As some buttons serve multiple features you can get additional benefits from the intelli-cord.

Such as if you select the S1 as City, you can use it to run thru the city options of city, city 1, city 2, and back to highway.

If you selected S1 as Quiet, it will act as Auto Quiet selection when the unit is not alarming and act as Quiet (Mute) when the unit is alarming.

The backlight option also has a handfull of sub routines and it the backlight option is selected for the S1 or S2 option, you can rotate thru the different sub routines.

S1 ans S2 can be selected and stored independantly.

For the XTR-325 the intelli-cord controlls Power and Quiet

Short press and release is Auto Quiet when not alarming and Quiet (Mute) when alarming
Long press (1 second) and release is power on/off.
