Hey guys, I have a question regarding the forums. My issue is that when I use the forum on my laptop and try either to sign in or access pages or threads, I always get a blank page with an IP address on the upper right hand corner. Yet when I access the forum on the phone, I have no problems posting or reading threads and whatnot. Can anyone shed some light on this?
(I'm assuming your laptop is running a Windows version)...
Go to a command prompt window, and type "ping -n 1 www.radardetector.net".
You should see something like this:
Quote:
Pinging radardetector.net [168.158.128.171] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 74.221.131.138: Destination net unreachable.
Ping statistics for 168.158.128.171:
Packets: Sent = 1, Received = 1, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
For the purposes of this test, the reply isn't important, only the IP address you get in the "Pinging..." line, which should be 168.158.128.171 (I showed it in bold above).
If you get something different on your lappy, check the file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, to make sure you don't have an entry for www.radardetector.net in there.

Are you using a AT&T Wireless broad band card, sprint card, etc on the laptop?
If not try and clear all the rd.net cookies on the lappy.
if it's showing you the ip address that's just our 404 message, for page not found.
Also, try typing http://www.radardetector.net/forums in the address bar on your lappy instead of using a bookmark. If the bookmark is from the old phpBB site, it is out of date and could cause your problem.
