Took a trip from Los Angeles to Lake Havasu, AZ over the weekend. On the way back driving on I-40 I had 3 or 4 Ka alerts. They started slow 1 or 2 bars then ramped up to 5 to 7. They lasted a few second and then stopped. I was I "A" mode, nothing out there except weeds, sand, and snakes! None of the alerts ever J'd out and no LEOs in sight. Any idea what I was getting. All came from the front.

No bear in the air, they cannot do that it would be the mother of all Cosine Errors.
I am guessing that the LEO was going the same direction you were using instant on but he was too far away for you do identify.
Are you using section 5 Ka band more responsive? I would not as it could mess up your distance judgment.

No, just using default setting from the factory.
