I am about to buy a Bel 995.

Will it work in Finland? If not, what should I get ?

find out the most common radar bands used in Finnland, and make sure this unit can properly detect them first.

I dont know if they have speed camera.. but they have "THE DUDESONS" :lol:

Speed cameras in Finland

Fixed Cameras: Most of the speed cameras use induction loop or piezo system. Speed and red light cameras are Robot’s Traffistar SR520 (like the S340)
Mobile Radar: Kustom / Falcon handheld radar guns (K band) and a few Stalker radar systems (Ka band - Stalker DSR, Dual and ATR.) Some police vehicles also have MultaRadar C units intalled in them, a few have Multanova 6F as well.
Mobile Laser: Pro Laser II

Recommended countermeasures:

GPS Location, a radar detector and a laser jammer.

I suggest you look for postings from D.E.Tektor and follow his advice - for complete protection you need all three countermeasures listed above.

Thanks for informing this guy for me :lol:

Actually most of the speeding cameras are Traffipax with induction loop/piezo - against those is http://www.activegps.fi very usuful - or other gps based solution.

The mobile radars are MAINLy Stalker Dual Ka, only few K band radars left.

Laser is very seldom used.
