I hate to make another thread, but I the other one was locked (lot of bickering).
Anyway, I keep hearing about "Brand X" this summer and "hold off on a v1 till brand x is out." Could some one be so kind as to explain what it is? Thank you.

The word on the street is that Brand X is a Bel radar detector that may have muliple radar antennas and maybe Spectre proof but we will not know until testing is done late in June some time. They supposedly get around the V1 patent on multiple antennas by have an antenna that is separate from the main unit.

that's like shooting yourself in the foot. :wink: if you're going to try to compete with the features of the V1, you can't add them and then charge a premium over the price of the V1 for it. :?

I had heard the same thing only RMR was going to have the first ever VASCAR detection and jamming! And I belive the quote I saw looked like "Makes airborne VASCAR 100% obsolete so you can be flossin and flyin on them streets, if the smokies have spectre hunting you down, dont frown you where never there"
And for some reason on the bottom of the package these small bumps that where "braille" well being i'm fluent in braille I had to read on. It basically said our products are the best at setting off expsensive x50's and V1's. If you thought you where getting anything else man we got you!

I think this is all merely speculation on the 2 antenna theory.

It's all hear-say. Most of the specifications that have been quoted on the board were just made up. For all we know it's just a new Cobra model just like the others and the Spectre invisibility thing was a fluke that won't be repeated. I really, really, really want to believe that something revolutionary is about to hit the market but I just can't believe it until I see the report.

Sounds great. Antenna can be put on the rear window dramatically increasing it's range. The detection of a V1 in the rear sucks, ie if you were driving backwards...

I like the idea of the antena seperate from the Main unit, that way you can hide the unit and put the antena under your rear view mirror ( or anywhere else) ...so it look's like a Remote starter
