New member here. My first radar detector since the 80s! Need to mount my new V1 onto my '06 BMW K1200GT, right next to my Garmin 2720. It's always good to know where you're going, and whose watching you coming!!! 8)

Nice Bike Messenger13, also Racer X.

Messenger13, RadarRick has a BMW himself... though a different model.

Racer X... don't know how you guys ride without windscreens.

I will hopefully post pics of my bike in this thread... and maybe my set-up in this forum...

Messenger13 post some pictures of your set up as it is finished.

Thanks RR. My last bike was a K1200LT, and a Ninja, and a slew of V4 Hondas before that. Never was one much for doing the speed limit. I've tried, but sometimes it's best just to "know thyself", and stop trying to be something you're not.

In April, I'm headed out to the left coast from Ohio. About 10K miles in 20 days. I figured a V1 might come in handy for that ride. :)

Messenger13 I'd buy a jammer to go with the GT.... if you have any money left.

Also check out the Vizalert by Speecheetah.

Can you be more specific for this novice? Which jammer? And what is a Vizalert? Got links?

(No good deed goes unpunished. )

Sorry the board frowns upon posting links. The Vizalert to be released in Q1 2007 is an in helmet display that provides alert specific warnings for your RD AND Jammer. ie Laser is red, Ka is yellow, K is blue etc. Its made by Speedcheetah try a google search.

There is a Cheetah forum on this board.

Just about any jammer will be effective on a bike since we have smaller areas to defend. The tests show that the Laser Park Pro is currently the most effective jammer and it uses very small heads so I'll leave to your imagination about where to install. Blinder is cheaper Roy has installed them on bikes they have larger heads and wider beam spread that may be better suited for a bike.

There is also sone new jammer models expected this spring.

I've got '72 and '75 Honda CB750 project bikes. The '72 is a period correct cafe racer with a high compression 836cc kit and the '75 will be showroom stock. (If I ever get them completed!!)
