Z-rated performance tires don't do so well in the winter, plus i didn't want to screw up the chrome on the rims. stock rims had all season tires on them better for winter driving...the week after the accident my car was scheduled for service and to get the wheels back on(be4 i knew i would get into an accident) but after the crash that didn't happen

This was my 1990 Dodge Daytona ES. It was a great 1st car. Quick, loaded and it was only 1500. I ended up replacing the engine and transmission and then the gas tank rusted out, along with numerous other things, so I sold it to my friend for 600 bucks and he still has it.

My first car was a Toyota Corolla 1995, my mother give me that car when she bought a new one
it was an ugly car but hey! it was free

in that I had a TAPE Deck with only front speaker  also I was using a cobra in that time :?
http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/fberube/radarnet/1rstcaracobra.jpg
I don't know what that ugly blackwire is doing there, that is probably shortly before I installed hardwire kit with a switch

anyway I managed to crash the car, and that is NOT due to speeding, I was doing about 60Km/h when it happend, it was also rainning.

http://personal.nbnet.nb.ca/fberube/radarnet/1rstcara3.jpg

lucky me I managed to get out without any major injury, only few scratch
I had to break the back window door to get out, I was a bit scarred because I had filled up the gaz tink about 30mins prior to the accident and it was smeeling gaz inside the car...
anyway it all over now, I now drive a Mazda Protege, I love it, this one have CD player insted of tape deck and a RX-65 insted of the Cobra

I drive a used 1998 Toyota Corolla LE (yea, like that exudes some importance.... 8) )

I hate this car, and I am forced to still drive it. I can't seem to find any better car since things are expensive these days, so I am STILL driving this thing. The car is getting on 140,000 miles soon, and I just had to pay to get it repainted by Maaco. Can you believe, when my dad bought it used from some stupid Hyundai dealership, there was ALREADY paint chipping and oxidizing on the roof AND trunk?! luckily the engine hood was fine, but i had to get the whole car repainted the same color. that cost over $500-$600! :x

anyway, guess what my dad drives? if you guessed a '98 Corolla LE, you would be CORRECT! And it is the EXACT same color as mine, royal blue. MAN, i am really sick of Corollas. The only difference with him was that he actually chose to buy it BRAND NEW when that model came out.

I have nothing against Toyota. Their cars are pretty darn cheap compared to most others and easy as crap to maintain on your own, but I need some change or I'll go nuts. :?

Well I, haven't had any accidents, yet. I have had too many close calls, so I have had to slow down and drive smarter. Luckily, neither has my dad, although someone hit his car while it park and totally dented the heck outta the passenger side door, right on the door handle. it still opens, but only when he opens it from the inside for somebody to get in.

My mom, thank goodness she doesn't have a Corolla , but she drives a Rav4, which is a decent mini-SUV, but is clearly much more expensive to maintain, which is why i am now having to give HER rides everywhere, b/c gas is $2.50 now, and she is too cheap to put any mileage on her 3-year old car. I drive nearly 100 miles a day just for work this summer. and during the Fall and Spring, I am already driving 50 each day just for college, gimme a break cuz I am already hating the highway.

Anyway, sorry for the *****ing. I am a newbie to this forum, and to most things RD. I am planning to buy either the rx65 or x50. I wanted to get the V1, but it is way outta my budget. I have heard from many people that x50 generally has better range on most highways than rx65, but that in the end they are almost identical (esp. since "Belscort" emerged a few years ago), so I would like to know from any of you knowledgeable dudes: which do you think is a better pick for me? cuz i can't decide and i have tried to research them both, but i can't make up my mind.

i would like to have the voice alert, that would be nice, but it's not high priprity. and i live in Charlotte, NC. i heard that some cops in this area are starting to use VASCAR, X-band more often, but dont know about laser (it would seem this is used moderately on the highways)

any help is appreciated!

thanks,
mkirt007

You guys are attacking him over nothing. The wheel story is absolutely possible. People do it all the time.

The badges? The badges are on the car in the original picture. Look closely.

The tales are also the same but the reflector is lit in the before picture from the sun..

Yeah, lighten up dude, nobody is trying to attack you, just trying to have some fun    . On the crash picture it looks like the car doesn't have the sunroof. Now all the sunroofs I've seen were plastic. Maybe yours is full metal so when it's closed it's hard to notice it's there?

In Crazy's defense, the Mercedes cars from this era had a metal sunroof. It's a metal sunshade that is the same color as the car. It's not glass like most others. If you look close, you can see the right-rear corner of it in the crashed pic.

First car was a modded 1975 chevy nova, I sold to my brother for a very good price and than even let his final few payments slide. Second Car is my truck right now. Its a 01 ford ranger 4.0. I sold off my first car for gas purposes as somebody could of allready guessed, plus cars like this always require work every week. My next soon to be car is going to be a 97-01 Corvette most likely, it must have low miles and a clean background.

LOL, my first car was a Renault Alliance. What a piece of crap that was. I had to put an oversided radiator in it just to keep it on the road. My next car was an Audi 5000 CS until I fried the turbo in it. For a big car that thing flew. 2.2L turbo. Now I still like the VW's and Audi's. American cars just don't do it for me. The handling is just so much different. I like the fact that my VW can be doing 130 mph and feel like it's glued to the road without a single vibration. Try that with a Toyota Corolla :)

My first car was a volvo 240 GL. I wrecked it after 3 weeks. I decided to jump a stepe railroad track. It is so stepe that if you are on one side of it you can't see the other side. I jumped it and landed on the front end. It popped out all the buttons on the dash. The gear shift went from D to 1 and all the headlights and everything in the front was torn out. Dropped the drive shaft and bent the sway bar in the back. Also busted the oil pan. I can't remember what else but it was totaled.

My first car that was actually titled in my name wasn't anything big. But I had a '91 Lumina Euro. I did like the car though. I owned it for 3 months before totaling it.

Where I live in MI, when they re-surface the roads, sometimes they just throw tar down and then throw some loose stone on top of it and let the cars drive over it and pack it down. Well, they had just done this on a road and they hadn't painted lines on it yet. I was coming around a curve and someone was coming the opposite way, halfway in my lane no less, and I lost it trying to move over and spun off the road and nailed a railroad tie fence held together with cement.

Did I mention that I think that throwing loose stone down on a road is a stupid idea?

Im 17 and my first and current vehice is a 1999 navigator, it was handed down from my mom who wanted a smaller SUV. now with everything it has its pros and cons Pros-enough space for a small army. Cons-with gas prices at 2.45 for premuim (it HAS to take premium), im usually lucky to keep a fill-up under $60. and with my MPG at a whooping 12.3, I fill up alot. and i do have to pay for it myself + insurance and i have a job, im not a spoiled little rich kid, my step-dad just happens to be wealthy and he raises me the way yall were raised. plus, he was a Marine lol. I have one ticket however, "failure to stop for a school bus". boy that was fun, 6 points on the license and mandatory suspension for 6 months, however the office that gave me the ticket got hit in his patrol car the day of my court, so my ticket was dismissed-after $167+$75 for defensive driving. but i didnt lose my license so i guess it was alright.

My first and the current car is 1997 Mercury Tracer (same as Ford Escort)I'm 19(2005) now and have been in the US since I was 17(2003)... At that time my dad bought himself a new car, and handed me this one, which he purchased a year prior to my coming...Back in '03 car had like 25K on it (dad bought it from a guy, who's granma was drivin it)...Now it has a lil over 60K...So far so good, nothing wrong with it except for the front end components that MUST be replaced from time to time... Since i'm gonna have the car for lil while, decided to put some money in it to make to more comfy...A sound system installed by myself (first time job), put some tints on windows, bi-xenon projectors off of an 03' BMW 745 ( Hella Gen4), and of course the V1  As soon as I get some xtra ca$h will add a Blinder+VEIL combination, even though I havent encountered any laser alert since I had my V1 (except when there is an Envoy in front of me with the brakes on, or somebody messes with the remote for the cd-reciever 8) )So as u can c nothing special-I buy less but good rather than a lot but so-so :wink:http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1119722602.jpghttp://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1119722528.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1119722634.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1115848269.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1114198570.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1114198843.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1114198952.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1115847912.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1110426317.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1110426379.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1119722824.jpg http://www.autotuning.ws/forum/uploads/post-10-1117994335.jpg

First car... 1987 Toyota MR2. Tiny, rear wheel drive, and mid engine. I've yet to drive a car that could corner like that little sucker. Got rid of it because it needed a new head gasket, transfer case gasket, spewed oil like a fountain spews water and because of the mid-engine design you had to drop the engine/tranny for almost any engine work (too much labor).

But that car was a blast to drive... ah, memories.
