Hey everyone, just would like to know if anyone has ever run 2 escort 8500 x50's at the same time. I will be going on a road trip soon and I have 2 in my possesion, and I am curious to know if running them both will reduce the range at all. Also, dous anyone here recommend the blinder extreme? How difficult will it be to set up?

What he is saying, is face one to the front, and one to the rear, so that you sort of have the equivalent of the dual-antennas in the V1, one front, one rear.
It would definitely improve your detection from the rear, but you would also get falses from both the front and the rear detectors...

You can have one X50 on the visor with the optional clip from escortradar.com for $4 plus $4.50 S/H and then another in the trunk being held by a friend to increase the range.
You could buy a dual cigarette lighter converter and plug in both "DUMB CORDS" and look down for the handy dandy alert signal to light up when you are shot with radar.
You don't want to get in a wreck by looking down at the "DUAL DUMB CORDS" so you can have your friend scream, "REAR" when he sees the X50 alert from the trunk.
Man Sethy, you are really on to something new with the dual antenna design.

Too bad Sethy, looks like Mike Valentine beat you to the patent office on January 21, 1992. If you had just thought of this design 13 years ago back when you were 4 years old, you would be a rich and hated man.
little sethys in bed now dreaming about the new X100+ sure gonna make him a rich loved man. What is with this guy first day for me here and i feel like i hate X50 already because sethy the mighty the great the all knowing is a little brat. All i want to do is chat with dudes about detectors not just V1, rocky mountain ,bell ,uniden etc it not a mines better than yours forum right. Boy sure am happy i live 15000 ks away from that guy. problem is that my V1 picks up pricks sure hope i dont point it in his direction  sorry Radarroy

I'm glad you guys care that much. but guess who doesnt. You guys can bash me all you want, but all I want is the same thing as everyone else on this forum, avoiding a ticket. Sooooo, go ahead- bash away, praise your v1.

Once again, I ask a simple question and you guys bring the V1 into it.
& we wouldnt have to scream rear- because thats why a radar detector beeps. You are making this another v1 battle

Duplicating the v1? I have issues because one the road trip we can both use our radar detectors? I think the fact that you are getting affended that I will be using two x50's instead of a v1 proves who has the issues

What happen to you ppl. when there is question posted sincerely about X50 always sarcastic remarks from you ppl. We are not here to flame or bash one another and to me it's very unethical. C'mon let have some sense of humour, be co-operative and understanding. BTW, Roy created this forum for us to enjoy and share our experiences. So have we achieve what ROY has done for us...
I believed ROY is quite disappointed with us and I don't think he wish to read our postings arguing, flaming & bashing one another. Instead we are here to help each others....

I'm done with these stupid battles of what detector is better. All I asked in this was will 2 X50's conflict, and you guys have gone nuts. We should all be helpign eachother on this forum, not attacking eachother like we've been doing.

All I asked in this was will 2 X50's conflict,
They might set each other off during the power up cycle, but beyond that, as long as they are on highway, there shouldn't be any problem as far as I can see.

I'm sorry Sethy, I think somehow because I mentioned the alphanumeric expression of "V1" I turned this into a flame war...
lol I agree
Sethy if you do put the X50 front and back im lookin forward to the results. The main dealer in my city has talk to bell and told them the same idea. you could be onto what this new bells everybody talkin about but with a bluetooth tech to connect them with. I thought that for eg you could have a % detection for front and back not arrows what do you think guys should i stick a pat on it!

Sethy, how will you be monitoring the one mounted in the rear? By sight via the rearview mirror or sound? Is your rear window tinted? Do you listen to your music on high volume? Just some "Qs" to consider on this.
sethy
01-25-2005, 08:15 AM
I would turn the rear sound on loud tone, and I could see it through my rearview mirror. My buddy was thinkin about just sucking it up and buying a v1 and returning it after the trip

How far of a trip are you planning? I can imagine a single RD would be sufficient. I've never gotten a ticket with one (knock-on wood) and that includes a 4 day run from Tacoma, WA to El Paso, TX to Durham, NC.

Going from ohio to panama city
So when you gonna go on this tripe?

Sethy,
I tried this trick to see if there was any difference between the two software versions. Red was ver. 3 and blue was ver. 5. They did false on X band with both units on. Also, even in highway mode, the range to a well know K band speed sign in my area, seemed to be diminished. For my personal comfort, I would NEVER run two RD's of any type at the same time in my truck. Hope this helps.
you may be able to run V1 with a x50 at the same due to the V1s shell.but 2x x5o or any other detector sounds like it gives probs.
