VASCAR = Visual Average Speed Computer And Recorder

It is a method of timing your vehicle over a certain distance to get your speed. It is not detectable by radar detectors. It can either be recognized by larged painted lines over the road usually an interstate, a police scanner, or a CB radio. The painted lines are not a requirement as any two reference points can be used. If you go to PA, look out because they use it a lot as local/city cops cannot use radar yet.

I have heard that if you challenge a vascar citation both the airborne and the ground officer have to appear in court or the citation is dismissed.
