Took these photos of the speed camera i posted the video of in the video section, it is a new Radar based speed camera it looks like it has at least 2 radar antennas and a wide angle camera, it also looks like a zoom lens in the tall long box.
It looks to me like this thing has at least 4 cameras in it...weird!
The antenna on the IR flash box looks as if it has adjustment for the radar antenna....its the first of this kind i have seen, I believe it is made by Redflex and it runs K band radar.
Here is the pics;

If only one could cut the cord going to the K antenna :twisted: "Hmm...weird...no one has been caught speeding for a long long time!...Our system of terrorism must be working! *horse laugh*"

yes this can be done...on 1 antenna...but the other one is in the big cabinet...some simple spraypaint will fix the camera ;)

Jason,
It's been a while since I checked in here so just spotted this email - good pictures. How new are they?
OK, I see something different here that's potentially interesting. Jason, I think you might have stumbled over a test location for a comparison trial rather than a new Redflex system.
What we have here is a collaberation between two companies
The vertical camera array bolted on to the side of the Redflex camera is indeed a K Band radar camera system made by a company called Sensys in Sweden. It's called the Sensys Speed Safety System or Sensys SSS for short the casing is their old style camera housing.
The little circular gizmo on top of the Redflex flash unit is also a radar system from Sensys, called the Sensys RS240.
Now what it all means is another matter. Perhaps Redflex are looking to buy Sensys? Perhaps Sensys are looking for new US distributors because their current ones weren't getting anywhere and have now dropped the product from their website? Who knows? Time will tell. I'd favour Redflex buying out a competitor who's trying to break into the US market, but I'm a cynic when it comes to camera companies :wink:

Forgot to add, links for this stuff are on my speedcam guide
Don't click the link if you're not on broadband. this guide is really picture heavy so it will take forever to download on a dial-up.

Ally,
Yes agreed, a perfect opp for a test site, as soon as i get a new vid cam (old one died) ill grab a bunch of detectors and hit the road...its a good test site to as on the approch it has a hill and a curve..so it will split the boys from the men in the detector world.
I did go past there the other day and they have removed 1 of the radar antennas, the one that was on a tripod looking thing, so now it only has 1 k band Antenna.
Thanks for your great information.
