I have two RD's that I would like to test against each other in the car. One is a whistler the other a Bel.
The Whistler picks up a constant x band when they are both turned on. Units are located midway up the windsheild almost 4 feet apart.
Any tips, or maybe this just can't be done.

You cannot do an effective test with more then one detector in the same vehicle. They cuase interference there are a few posts about this.

The correct setup is to run multiple tests, each with only one detector active. Even if the detectors are not alerting to each other, they could be filtering each other out in their software, making performance very different from waht is in actuality.

X2 to the welcome. If you want to try it, throw one rd up in the front window, and one in the rear. Otherwise, I wouldn't do it.

The correct set-up is to turn one detector off.

Sure you can! Just can't have both of them on at the same time

I ran my friend's whistler with my x50 once. If I had pop enabled on the x50, it'd go off every few seconds. While running the two, the whistler usually alerted slightly ahead, and the x50 alerted as I was passing the officer occassionally only.

Well than how far apart or let's say ........ A car is running a rd 3 cars ahead of you......How far should rd's be apart....Possibly as much as the leakage can be detected...Every rd leaks somewhere in some band....
But the older v1's are 400 feet leakage so let's say two-hundred feet apart sound about right?
